Texas-based Floral Designer Nikki Rooney brought her own wedding dreams to life, with a show stopping paradise of Spring-inspired blooms and petal infused details.
Have you ever dreamed about what a florist’s vision for their own wedding would look like?
Well… here is your answer, and we’re betting it’s even more beautiful than you imagined.
Last year we had the once in a lifetime opportunity to shoot Nikki and Tim’s wedding at The Sterling, Texas (their own venue!) and help bring one of the most incredible concepts we’ve ever been a part of to life. Nikki isn’t your average bride – she happens to be one of the best florists and floral designers in Texas! – and the vision for her big day was a spring inspired wonderland of romantic, vintage details drenched entirely in pastel flowers.
There wasn’t a single part of her day that wasn’t dripping in petals – from luxurious, extravagant dinner displays to centrepieces overflowing with spring-inspired blooms the whole venue was coated in blossoms. Nikki looked like a true woodland princess inside her own fairytale (with four-legged friends to match!) in her Clair Pettibone dress designed with florals laced throughout the silk tulle, and Tim’s classic suit was a picture of masculine elegance – and nobody could take their eyes off either of them.
It’s rare that you get to be a part of the ceremony where the guests are as in love with the day as the couple themselves, but with the sweet scent of flowers and baked treats by one of my favorite bakers in Houston Becca Cakes filling the air and the most AMAZING vibrantly colored cocktails (also garnished with flowers, of course!) by the Traveling Spirit Bar to sip on it was impossible not to be! The whole day was a big celebration of love and creative passion that our friends and vendors are STILL talking about today, a whole year on.
Every element of the design felt simultaneously on-trend and completely unique, and was everything you’d expect from one of Texas’ finest artists and trendsetters. I was so inspired by Nikki – being a bride is stressful enough, but on top of that she worked so hard to put everything in place to pay homage to her craft and make sure that her passion came to life in the most perfect way. I couldn’t admire her dedication to her passion any more if I tried, and If there’s one florist I’d recommend in Houston, Austin or Dallas – it’s Nikki.
This wedding was featured in the Fall issue of Inside Weddings, and i can’t think of a day more deserving of recognition for all the incredible work and love that went into it. If you’re a fan of flowers these will be the star of your Pinterest board, and the perfect inspiration for a Spring or Summer wedding in 2022.
